For a while I’ve been wanting to recover the 2 wingback chairs in the family room. I had made light gold slipcovers for them several years ago, but it’s been a while since I’ve really loved them. Here’s a look.
A couple of Saturdays ago, I decided it was the perfect day to just sit down and get started on one of them. Since I used inexpensive drop cloth, of course, for the fabric, I knew the neutral colors would probably need a little texture. So I did a little gather along the boxing strip that goes around the seat cushion.
Here’s a closer look.
It’s simple, but I’m amazed at how much I notice that gather when I glance at the chair.
Although I think I still might try something different for the pillow, I couldn’t find any scrap fabric around here that I liked better. So for now, the little ivory one stays. Besides, its neutrality ensures that the blues and green on the couch have their little spot of limelight.
Kate doesn’t seem to mind either way!
I’m not quite finished with the other chair. I’m working on a slightly different look for it. But as soon as it’s ready, I’ll show it to you and you can tell me what you think.
Have a great day!
I love the gathers on the cushion!! Good idea.
