The girls love to play a game called “Runaway”. They dress up the way they think orphans would be dressed, take all the necessary accoutrements, like coffee mugs, leftover dinner rolls, dolls, tupperware bowls, a plastic bucket of water and my ladle, as well as plenty of blankets (and possibly a cat or two). And off they traipse – through the backyard, the front yard… and I have even seen them in the corn field.
I looked out the kitchen window one day a week ago, or so, and saw them all dressed up, and decided I had to get a picture of them. They play this game so often that I know they’re going to talk about these adventures with each other (and maybe their own children) some day in the not too distant future. A picture is always handy when reminiscing.
And I know I will want to have something to look at to marvel at how little they were then…
I love it! The cat looks like he's (she's) looking for an opportunity to make a break. :-D
ReplyDeleteWhy is it so much fun to pretend to be poor and homeless? LOL The first time I heard Callie and Kate pretending be children in an orphanage I was shocked and almost made them stop. Then I took a deep breath and went about my business. :)
ReplyDeleteHey! I recognize that skirt Kate is wearing! I wore that one a LOT!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it is still being usefull.
Looks like fun ya'll.
